Dr. Facilier

Dr. Facilier, famously known as 'The Shadow Man' from Disney's 2009 animated feature The Princess and the Frog, made his highly anticipated LEGO debut in the 2023 Disney 100 Collectible Minifigures Series (71038). Fans and collectors immediately praised the figure for capturing his charismatic yet sinister persona with exceptional accuracy.

The minifigure boasts remarkable detail across all four elements, including a custom-printed top hat featuring his signature skull and crossbones motif with a vivid red band. His expressive face print showcases his trademark toothy grin with a missing tooth and arched eyebrows, while the torso and legs feature sharp printing depicting his tailored tailcoat, lavender waistcoat, fang necklace, and iconic white spats on his shoes.

As the sole LEGO rendition of one of Disney's most popular modern villains, this figure is an essential centerpiece for Disney collector displays and villain lineups. Mint condition copies complete with his original accessories—a printed tarot card tile and walking cane—command strong interest on the secondary market.

Dr. Facilier was released exclusively as part of the blind-bagged Disney 100 Collectible Minifigures Series (Set 71038) in 2023. With the Disney 100 line seeing a strict limited-run production cycle that retired at the end of the anniversary year, supply in retail channels ceased quickly.

Because CMF distribution placed fixed quantities per retail case, acquiring specific characters like Dr. Facilier required feeling foil packs or buying secondary singles. Now that the series is fully retired, loose complete figures and sealed blind bags are steadily drying up from primary secondary marketplaces.

Historically, iconic Disney villains in the Collectible Minifigures theme—such as Maleficent, Ursula, Jafar, and Hades—have demonstrated reliable long-term value appreciation. Dr. Facilier fits this exact profile, benefiting from strong character popularity and a lack of alternative appearances in standard retail playsets.

Given that LEGO rarely revisits specific non-core Disney characters in standard system sets, this figure is likely to remain the definitive version of Dr. Facilier for years to come. Collectors should expect steady, upward price movement, particularly for complete mint-condition examples with their original printed accessories.
