Dark Red Torso, Black Legs, Dark Red Cap

This casual civilian minifigure hails exclusively from the BrickLink Designer Program set Venetian Houses (910023-1), designed by fan creator BlackQubit. Dressed for a pleasant day wandering the historic Venetian canals, the figure features a dark red casual zip-up jacket over a medium blue t-shirt print, topped off with a matching dark red cap, black trousers, and an exuberant open-mouthed grin.

While the constituent elements of this minifigure are standard LEGO City/Town elements produced in other sets, this exact figure configuration is uniquely cataloged from one of the most celebrated BrickLink Designer Program releases. Minifigures from BDP sets are inherently collectible due to their connection to high-end, AFOL-targeted limited production runs.

Condition-wise, collectors should inspect the dark red cap and torso for surface scratches or fading on the zipper print. Because most buyers purchased Venetian Houses to display the completed modular build, loose complete copies of this minifigure are uncommon on secondary marketplaces.

This minifigure was produced in strictly limited quantities as part of Round 2 of the BrickLink Designer Program 2021 Invitational, which shipped in 2022. Crowdfunded sets in this program were capped at a maximum of 10,000 units worldwide and were never sold in standard retail stores or official LEGO Brand retail channels.

Because the parent set is a highly coveted display piece, very few collectors are willing to part out the minifigures. As a result, finding this specific minifigure loose and complete can be surprisingly tricky despite its generic appearance.

Minifigures from the BrickLink Designer Program benefit from the overall prestige and scarcity of the underlying theme. Complete BDP sets frequently appreciate by 100% to 200% above their initial retail price post-retirement, establishing strong baseline demand among modular building collectors seeking replacement parts or complete figure ensembles.

However, the figure's investment upside is tempered by the fact that it is a generic civilian character composed of non-exclusive individual element molds and prints. It is best viewed as a solid, scarce collector's piece rather than a runaway speculative investment.
