Santiago - Reddish Brown Hair, Life Vest

Santiago (fig-012822) is an adorable LEGO Friends microdoll introduced in 2022. Microdolls, representing younger children in the Heartlake City universe, hold a unique place in LEGO collecting. This specific version of Santiago is tailored for aquatic adventure, sporting a detailed printed torso featuring a cool shark graphic on a blue shirt with red sleeves.

What sets this figure apart is the charming combination of accessories. Santiago comes equipped with a bright orange minidoll life vest and stylish trans-purple pin-on glasses that attach directly to his curly reddish-brown hair piece. These small accessory elements are easily misplaced, making a complete, undamaged figure particularly desirable for Friends enthusiasts and completionists.

Because microdolls feature a single-piece molded lower body rather than traditional articulated legs, collectors should inspect the neck connection and printed graphics for any friction wear or paint rubbing, especially around the life jacket contact points.

This microdoll variant appeared exclusively in a single set: the 2022 Water Park (set 41720-1). With the retirement of this set, Santiago with this specific life vest and shark shirt configuration is no longer in production.

While Friends sets enjoy wide retail distribution, exclusive microdolls often slip under the radar during a set's initial shelf life. As time passes, finding complete figures with both the trans-purple glasses and life jacket intact becomes increasingly difficult on the secondary market.

LEGO Friends figures and microdolls typically demonstrate modest secondary market appreciation compared to licensed minifigures from themes like Star Wars or Marvel. However, set-exclusive microdolls consistently maintain stable demand from collectors seeking to restore retired sets to 100% completeness.

Given that Santiago was exclusive to a single retired set, this figure represents a solid minor hold for Friends specialists, though it is best viewed as a completionist piece rather than a high-yield investment asset.
