Alastor Mad-Eye Moody, Odd Legs, Medium Nougat Coat

Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody is a legendary figure in the Wizarding World, and this particular iteration from the Hogwarts Moment book series is an absolute must-have for Harry Potter collectors. What makes this specific version stand out is the fantastic medium nougat coat printing, complete with intricate clasps, coattails, and uniquely styled medium legs that capture his iconic rugged look. It’s a wonderful physical representation of Hogwarts’ most eccentric and formidable Defence Against the Dark Arts professor.

Adding to the collectibility is the incredible dual-sided head print, which gives you two characters in one: the grizzled Auror Alastor Moody complete with his magical eyepatch, and the sinister Barty Crouch Jr. with his stubble and licking lips. This brilliant storytelling touch makes the figure immensely displayable for fans looking to recreate the dramatic fourth-year plot twists. When inspecting secondary market data, collectors should pay close attention to the print quality on the magical eye and ensure the unique medium nougat legs and coat elements are authentic.

This variant of Mad-Eye Moody is moderately rare, having appeared in just a single retail set: the 2022 Hogwarts Moment: Defence Against the Dark Arts Class (76397-1). Because it was tied to this specific modular book build rather than a massive flagship castle or a direct-to-consumer set, its production run was more focused and has since completely retired.

As these book-style sets transition further into the aftermarket, finding this exact Moody variant loose or complete with his tan hair piece has become increasingly appealing to completionists. While not an ultra-rare convention exclusive, its restriction to a single mid-range set ensures steady demand among theme-wide collectors who refuse to miss a single Professor variant.

As a single-set exclusive for a major character, this Mad-Eye Moody boasts solid investment fundamentals. Market data indicates that retired Hogwarts Moment sets hold their value remarkably well, and unique character variants within those sub-themes frequently outperform the sets themselves as fans look to downsize storage while keeping their favorite minifigures.

The inclusion of the Barty Crouch Jr. alternate face adds massive appeal for display and play, driving higher long-term demand compared to standard background students or teachers. For investors looking at the Harry Potter theme, this figure sits comfortably in a strong growth tier, making it a reliable addition to any focused portfolio.
