Lava Bubble (3068bpr0056 Barcode)

The LEGO Lava Bubble (traditionally known in the Nintendo franchise as a Podoboo) is a brick-built enemy figure from the interactive LEGO Super Mario theme. Despite its compact 14-piece build, it perfectly captures the iconic leaping fireball hazard from Super Mario's castle and lava levels using vibrant trans-orange slope pyramids and bright yellow elements.

A core draw for collectors and course builders is the inclusion of the scannable 2x2 action tile (part 3068bpr0056). This piece allows the interactive Mario, Luigi, and Peach figures to register defeating the Lava Bubble in gameplay, making it an essential functional piece for custom expansion layouts.

Because the figure relies on printed and stickered scannable surfaces alongside transparent elements, collectors should pay close attention to condition. Scratched action tiles can impair scanner readability, and the trans-orange pieces are prone to scuffs if stored loosely with other bricks.

The Lava Bubble appeared in multiple early LEGO Super Mario expansion sets released during the theme's initial 2020 wave, including 71364 Whomp's Lava Trouble and 71369 Bowser's Castle Boss Battle. Because of its distribution across popular sets, it is relatively accessible on the secondary market.

While not rare in the traditional sense, demand remains consistent because builders frequently seek multiple Lava Bubbles to populate custom Mario lava course displays and Bowser castle dioramas.

Brick-built LEGO Super Mario enemy figures generally demonstrate modest price appreciation compared to traditional licensed minifigures with minifig torsos and legs. However, iconic classic enemies retain dependable demand from theme enthusiasts and Nintendo fans.

With early expansion sets now retired, individual interactive enemies hold stable aftermarket value. It serves primarily as a great low-cost pickup for course builders rather than a high-yield speculative investment.
