Antonio - Microdoll (Reddish Brown)

Hey there, fellow Brick by Brick collector! Today we are looking at Antonio from Disney's Encanto, captured in the adorable microdoll format. While not a traditional minifigure, this little piece of the magical Madrigal family is an absolute must-have for fans of the film. The figure features Antonio's signature short curly black hair and his bright orange shirt paired with a red scarf and reddish-brown pants, perfectly capturing his look from the magical room scenes.

Because microdolls consist of specialized non-standard parts, keeping track of the head, hair, and tiny body piece is crucial for completeness. When hunting for this piece on the secondary market, pay close attention to the facial print and the delicate torso details, as wear and tear can happen easily with smaller components. For Disney collectors and fans of the Madrigal family, displaying Antonio alongside his magical animal friends is a sheer delight.

Antonio has made appearances in two distinct Disney sets released back in 2021: Antonio's Magical Door (43200-1) and The Madrigal House (43202-1). Since both of these sets are now officially retired, you can no longer pick them up on shelves at retail price. This means the primary source for acquiring this microdoll is now through the aftermarket or secondhand part sellers.

While the character isn't a hyper-rare convention exclusive, microdolls are produced in smaller quantities compared to standard minifigures due to their specialized theme integration. As time goes on and sealed sets become scarcer, loose microdolls like Antonio will become increasingly desirable for completionists trying to build out the entire Madrigal family tree.

Market data shows that while this microdoll is still finding its steady footing in terms of standalone tracking, the overall popularity of the Encanto theme provides a solid foundation for future demand. The sets he appeared in were moderately priced when new, making them accessible, but their retirement naturally triggers a slow appreciation in value for the unique characters locked inside them.

For investors, microdolls represent a niche market compared to traditional minifigures, but Disney character demand tends to remain resilient over the long term. If you are building a complete Encanto collection or looking to bundle the Madrigal family microdolls together, holding onto Antonio is a safe play as nostalgic fans and Disney collectors search for complete sets of the magical characters.
