Will.i.am

The Will.i.am minifigure is an exceptionally rare and fascinating promotional release that sits at the intersection of pop culture, music history, and STEM education. Created in 2016 through a partnership between LEGO Education, FIRST LEGO League, and the musician's i.am.angel Foundation, this figure captures the Black Eyed Peas frontman and tech entrepreneur in his distinct avant-garde style.

What makes this minifigure stand out is its bespoke detailing. It features an exclusive head print featuring will.i.am's signature designer glasses, mustache, and sculpted beard, topped with a stylish wide-brim outback fedora. The white jacket torso includes metallic gold trim and proudly showcases the official LEGO Education logo on the back, while the legs feature matching formal coattail prints.

Because it was produced as a limited promotional piece for educational and charity events rather than a retail toy set, finding an authentic, complete copy with all original parts in mint condition is a crown jewel achievement for promotional and celebrity minifigure collectors.

This minifigure is exceptionally rare. It was never released through traditional retail channels or packaged inside standard boxed sets, appearing solely in the limited promotional distribution set WILLIAM-1 in 2016.

Due to its targeted distribution at select VIP educational events, FIRST Robotics competitions, and philanthropic initiatives, the production run was very low compared to standard LEGO figures. Genuine examples rarely surface on secondary marketplaces like BrickLink or eBay, leading to significant competition whenever one is listed.

From an investment perspective, the Will.i.am promotional figure represents an elite tier of modern promotional LEGO collectibles. Celebrity minifigures—especially those officially sanctioned and produced in microscopic quantities—tend to maintain strong floor prices and appreciate steadily over long horizons.

While the market is relatively illiquid due to low turnover, the combination of complete exclusivity, unique printed elements, and cross-appeal to music memorabilia collectors ensures that demand reliably outstrips supply.
