Banker, Light Gray Jacket with Badge and Tie, Black Legs, White Hat, Moustache

This Banker minifigure is a nostalgic gem from the golden era of late 1990s LEGO Town. Released exclusively in the 1997 Security Express set (6566), this figure represents the classic aesthetic before the transition to modern LEGO City. His standout feature is the Light Gray torso print featuring a sharp business jacket, green-and-yellow dollar sign bank logo badge, and formal dark tie.

Adding to his distinct personality is the classic pointed mustache head print—an expression widely recognized from classic 90s themes like Town and Western, and later repurposed across vintage Star Wars figures like Biggs Darklighter. Topped with a crisp white peaked cap, he perfectly encapsulates the retro aesthetic of classic LEGO civilian and service figures.

From a preservation standpoint, finding this minifigure in pristine condition is increasingly difficult. Collectors should inspect the vintage Old Light Gray torso for side stress fractures, neck cracks, and wear to the metallic-like bank badge print, as 1990s pad printing on smooth torso elements was prone to rubbing over years of play.

This specific banker minifigure is relatively rare due to being exclusive to just one set: the 1997 Security Express (6566-1). Because it was produced during a transition period in LEGO Town's history and has been retired for over two decades, supply on the secondary market is constrained.

While individual components like the white cap and pointed mustache head appeared across multiple sets in the late 90s, the unique Light Gray Dollar Sign torso only appeared in this configuration in set 6566, making complete, authentic original assemblies a prize for vintage Town completionists.

While vintage non-licensed Town minifigures rarely reach the astronomical values of licensed IP figures, exclusive 90s figures like this Banker maintain a steady appreciation curve. High-grade examples benefit from sustained nostalgia among adult fans of LEGO (AFOLs) who seek to restore or complete childhood sets.

Investment potential is anchored by the permanent retirement of classic Old Light Gray plastic and the set's single-release exclusivity. While demand remains a specialized niche, clean specimens command solid premiums over generic contemporary City figures.
