Astronaut, White, Light Gray Hips, Helmet with Large Chrome Gold Visor, Rocket Pack, Headset

When it comes to late-90s Space themes, this astronaut is an absolute standout piece that instantly catches the eye of any classic LEGO collector. The crown jewel of this ensemble is undoubtedly the helmet with its large chrome gold visor, a gleaming accessory that defined the futuristic aesthetics of the era. Coupled with the detailed rocket pack and the unique Space Port torso print featuring the 'C1' designation, this minifigure captures a very specific, beloved transitional period in LEGO's sci-fi history.

Condition is everything for collectors tracking down this figure, particularly due to that brilliant chrome gold visor. Over the years, the reflective coating on these visors can show wear, micro-scratches, or fading from display and handling, making pristine examples highly sought after in the secondary market. The head piece also features a distinctive headset print with red-brown hair, adding a touch of personality that elevates this astronaut above the completely generic spacemen of earlier decades.

This particular astronaut variant is notably scarce because it was confined to just a single set released back in 1999 during the twilight of the classic Space-adjacent subthemes. Finding one today requires tracking down that specific vintage release, as the figure was never repackaged or rolled out into broader waves of sets. This single-appearance exclusivity naturally drives up its desirability among completionists who are trying to secure every iteration of classic space personnel.

Because of its age and limited distribution, tracking down a complete and authentic specimen in the aftermarket can be a fun challenge for dedicated collectors. You'll want to pay close attention to ensure all parts match the original 1999 specification—especially verifying that the chrome gold visor is genuine and that the torso printing remains crisp and unblemished by yellowing or fading.
