Man, Black Torso with Yellow Arms, Light Gray Legs, Black Hair, Sunglasses

This classic 1990s Town civilian minifigure captures the nostalgic golden era of LEGO City and Town themes. Featuring the iconic vintage sunglasses head print with a classic open grin, this minifig exudes retro cool. The head print itself was one of LEGO's earliest departures from the traditional standard smiley face, making vintage figures with this print instantly recognizable to longtime collectors.

The minifigure made appearances across two distinct themes: the beloved 1992 'Checkered Flag 500' racing set and the much more elusive 1996 ANWB promotional release. Because classic Town minifigures often used modular, mix-and-match standard parts, finding this exact combination intact from the original sets is a fun hunt for vintage Town completists.

When assessing condition, collectors should pay special attention to the vintage sunglasses print on the head, which can rub off from playwear. Additionally, vintage light gray legs and black torsos from the 1990s are susceptible to minor scratching and joint looseness over decades of storage.

With appearances in only two sets from the 1990s (1992 and 1996), this minifigure is relatively uncommon in complete, factory-correct form. While individual components like the plain black torso and classic light gray legs were widely produced across multiple themes, finding the specific combination tied to these two vintage releases requires searching through older collections.

Its inclusion in the 1996 ANWB Roadside Assistance Crew (set 2140-1)—a promotional set produced primarily for the Dutch market—adds a touch of regional exclusivity and charm for European promotional set collectors.

As a generic vintage Town figure, this minifigure does not command the high speculative premiums of licensed characters, but it benefits from steady nostalgic demand. Classic Town and Racing theme enthusiasts consistently look for clean, unblemished figures from the early-to-mid 1990s to complete classic boxed sets or populate vintage dioramas.

Its investment ceiling is constrained by the non-exclusive nature of its parts, which can be pieced together via standard parts orders. However, complete vintage figures in pristine condition maintain stable micro-value and represent an accessible entry point for vintage LEGO investing.
