Fire Fighter, Black Torso, Black Legs, Tan Hair

Hailing exclusively from the acclaimed 2009 Modular Building Fire Brigade (Set 10197), this vintage-styled firefighter captures the charm of early adult-oriented LEGO sets. In keeping with the aesthetic tradition established across early Modular Buildings Collection entries, the minifigure features the classic, nostalgic yellow smiley face rather than modern expressive face prints, making it an essential piece for modular purists.

The figure stands out with its detailed black turnout jacket featuring a printed silver badge, radio harness, and safety stripes, finished off with a dapper tan center-part hairstyle typical of early 20th-century municipal workers. Because Set 10197 has been retired for over a decade and trades at significant secondary-market values, individual minifigures from the set are in steady demand by collectors aiming to restore incomplete builds.

Condition is a primary factor for this figure: the black torso print is susceptible to silver foil print rub and edge wear, while the classic open-stud smiley head must be checked for authentic vintage LEGO mold markings to ensure it is period-accurate.

This exact minifigure configuration appeared in only one set: the 2009 Fire Brigade (10197). While plain black legs and standard tan hairpieces were widely available across other City and Town sets, the torso print and specific combination with the classic smiley face make this figure unique to this single modular release.

Given that the set retired in late 2013 and modular enthusiasts rarely part out their complete displays, loose figures in mint condition are relatively scarce on the secondary market.

Minifigures from early Modular Buildings enjoy consistent aftermarket demand, primarily driven by AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO) looking to replace lost pieces or complete pre-owned copies of Set 10197. While generic Town figures generally do not reach the astronomical heights of licensed superhero or Star Wars figures, modular exclusives retain strong base values.

With Set 10197 maintaining a high status among iconic modular sets, this firefighter provides reliable value retention and modest long-term growth.
