Martian, Blue and Orange

The Blue and Orange Martian is a distinctive character from the beloved 2001 Life on Mars theme, which holds a special place in LEGO history for depicting peaceful human-alien cooperation rather than interplanetary conflict. This figure is composed of specialized modular parts including an alien head mold in Dark Turquoise with printed insectoid eyes, dual clip-style mechanical arms, a classic droid torso in blue, and specialized molded orange Martian legs.

Because the Life on Mars alien figures utilized mechanical battle droid torso clips and thin arm attachments, finding specimens without stress marks, loose joints, or cracked clips is becoming increasingly challenging for collectors. Complete, pristine condition figures represent a nostalgic piece of early 2000s classic sci-fi LEGO design.

This specific color combination of the Martian appeared solely across variations of the small 'Double Hover' set in 2001 (sets 7300, 7308, and the Japanese Kabaya candy promotion 1414). Because it was restricted to a single set model produced over twenty years ago, aftermarket supply in mint condition is relatively limited.

While originally accessible as a budget impulse set and promotional item, its brief production window and region-specific packaging variants (like the Kabaya release) make it a hidden gem for vintage Space theme completionists.
