Skeleton, Square Skull, Pearl Gold Armor

This armored Minecraft Skeleton is a premier find for theme enthusiasts, originating exclusively from the legendary and massive Direct-to-Consumer set, The Mountain Cave (21137). In the Minecraft game, hostile mobs occasionally spawn with specialized equipment, and LEGO faithfully replicated this mechanic by outfitting this hostile archer with a dedicated Pearl Gold rectangular chestplate piece over its cubic skeleton frame.

Because The Mountain Cave is widely regarded as the ultimate 'Holy Grail' set of the entire LEGO Minecraft theme, any minifigure unique to this release commands significant collector respect. The combination of the iconic printed cubic skull and the gleaming gold armor makes this variant instantly recognizable compared to the dozens of standard, unarmored skeletons that appear across everyday retail sets.

When assessing condition, collectors should pay special attention to the vertical grip skeleton arms, which can suffer from stress marks or loosened joints over time. Additionally, ensuring the Pearl Gold breastplate is authentic and free from scuffs or bite marks is crucial for retaining peak secondary market value.

This specific Skeleton variant is exceedingly rare due to appearing in only a single set: 2017's The Mountain Cave (21137). Because this set carried a hefty $249.99 launch price and had a relatively short production run before retirement, far fewer copies entered circulation compared to mass-retail Minecraft sets.

As a result, standalone copies of this armored mob on the secondary market are sparse, often kept intact by collectors who preserve the complete Mountain Cave set. Finding one in mint condition outside the full set carries a notable premium.

The investment outlook for this figure is intrinsically tied to the monumental aftermarket performance of Set 21137, which has become one of the most valuable modern LEGO sets post-retirement. As collectors attempt to piece together or complete second-hand Mountain Cave builds, exclusive mob variants like this gold-armored skeleton experience continuous, steady demand.

Given the low likelihood that LEGO will reissue identical configurations from this retired flagship set, this figure remains a top-tier asset within the Minecraft category, backed by sustained popularity among both AFOL collectors and dedicated Minecraft gamers.
