Dr. Peter Venkman, Slimed

This exclusive 'Slimed' variant of Dr. Peter Venkman captures one of the most iconic comedic moments in cinema history—his fateful encounter with Slimer in the halls of the Sedgewick Hotel from the 1984 Ghostbusters film ("He slimed me!"). Released exclusively in the massive 2016 Firehouse Headquarters (75827), this minifigure is a standout centerpiece for pop culture and LEGO movie collectors alike.

What sets this figure apart is the exceptional level of detail. Unlike the standard clean jumpsuits found in the Ideas Ecto-1 set, this figure features bright green ectoplasm splattered across the chest, back, and torso, along with printed Ghostbusters shoulder patches on the arms and the 'P.V.' initials badge. The dual-sided head is uniquely expressive, featuring a shocked face on one side and a hilarious green slime-coated, tongue-out grimace on the reverse.

Because this variant appeared only in a single high-end Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) set, complete figures in pristine condition command strong collector interest. Collectors should take care to check for neck wear around the bracket stud attachment point and ensure the delicate arm and face prints remain free of scuffs and fading.

Dr. Peter Venkman (Slimed) is a genuinely rare minifigure due to its single-set availability in the retired 75827 Firehouse Headquarters, a premium set that retailed for $349.99 before retiring in late 2018. Because few casual buyers purchased the flagship set, the circulating aftermarket supply of this specific variant remains remarkably tight.

Unlike the clean version of Venkman that appeared in the widely distributed LEGO Ideas Ecto-1 (21108) and LEGO Dimensions Level Pack (71228), the slimed head and torso prints were never reissued or included in any polybag, keeping its exclusivity absolute.

From an investment standpoint, this minifigure holds an impressive profile. The Ghostbusters franchise retains a dedicated, generational fanbase, and exclusive minifigures from retired modular-scale D2C sets consistently perform well above average on secondary markets. With the Firehouse Headquarters set skyrocketing in value post-retirement, individual exclusive minifigures from the set have followed a similar upward trajectory.

Given that LEGO is unlikely to reissue this specific 1984 film variant, long-term appreciation is very solid. It represents the quintessential version of Bill Murray's beloved character for high-end movie display collections.
