Vultrix

Vultrix is an exceptionally detailed minifigure released in 2015 during the final "Fire vs. Ice" wave of the LEGO Legends of Chima theme. As a standout warrior of the Vulture Tribe, Vultrix features a dedicated sculpted vulture mask/helmet piece with intricate beak and crest printing, along with feathered wing accessories attached to a specialized clip harness.

One of the figure's most striking attributes is the asymmetrical leg design, featuring a solid light bluish-gray left leg paired with a trans-light blue right leg, representing the crystalline ice corruption of the prehistoric Ice Hunter tribes. Combined with the trans-light blue breastplate armor and jewel print, Vultrix represents the peak of Legends of Chima's complex multi-element figure design.

Condition-wise, collectors should pay special attention to the mechanical wing assembly, as 1x1 clip tiles are susceptible to stress marks or snapping over repeated posing. Additionally, checking for paint rub on the elongated beak and ensuring torso joints remain tight are vital for grading mint condition specimens.

Vultrix appeared in only two sets in 2015: his dedicated vehicle set 70228 (Vultrix's Sky Scavenger) and a limited promotional bundle box (The Ultimate Battle for Chima, BIGBOX-1). Because 2015 marked the end of the Legends of Chima product cycle, the distribution window was notably shorter than earlier 2013-2014 waves.

Due to the short retail run and the niche appeal of late-wave Chima sets, complete Vultrix minifigures with all 10 component parts (including the translucent armor and clip-on wings) are increasingly scarce on secondary collector marketplaces.

Minifigures from the later waves of Legends of Chima have experienced steady price appreciation as the generation that grew up with the theme enters the collector market. The dramatic fantasy creature aesthetics and high component part counts give these figures long-term cross-theme appeal among custom builders and display enthusiasts.

While not possessing the explosive mainstream demand of licensed franchises like Star Wars or Marvel, Vultrix offers solid growth potential as a named character with a unique, exclusive parts arrangement from a fully retired theme.
