Vicki Vale

The Vicki Vale minifigure is a standout release for DC and classic Batman enthusiasts, marking the first—and currently only—official physical LEGO minifigure ever produced for the iconic photojournalist. Based specifically on Kim Basinger's portrayal in Tim Burton's groundbreaking 1989 Batman film, this minifigure captures the stylish late-1980s aesthetic with remarkable screen accuracy.

Vicki features a unique sand green outfit consisting of a tailored trench coat torso print and a pleated skirt design on the legs. Her dual-sided light nougat head includes a distinctive beauty mark above her lip, offering both a calm, determined investigative expression and an iconic distressed expression ideal for recreating classic Gotham rescue scenes with Michael Keaton's Batman.

Because she was designed to stand alongside the 1989 Batman and Jack Nicholson's Joker on the ornate gargoyle display plinth included with the UCS-scale Batmobile, she holds significant prestige for collectors seeking complete movie-tribute character trios.

This minifigure is exceptionally rare due to its limited distribution. It was exclusively included in the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) 1989 Batmobile (set 76139), which retailed for $249.99 and was retired at the end of 2021 after a roughly two-year production run.

With no standard retail set releases or polybags containing this figure, secondary market supply remains tight. Loose figures rarely enter circulation unless a collector specifically parts out a high-value collector set, maintaining its status as a sought-after exclusive.

From an investment perspective, Vicki Vale boasts top-tier fundamentals. Nostalgia for Tim Burton's 1989 cinematic universe remains massive among adult collectors, and set 76139 has proven to be one of the most celebrated DC sets in LEGO history. Because Vicki Vale has never been reissued in subsequent 1989-themed sets (such as the 1989 Batwing or the Batcave Shadow Box), her singular appearance drives sustained standalone demand.

Given her status as a one-of-a-kind character variant and the retired status of her parent set, this minifigure is poised for steady, long-term capital appreciation on the aftermarket.
