Groot, Teen

Teen Groot from the 2018 Avengers: Infinity War wave is one of the most distinctive and humorous MCU character variants produced by LEGO. Capturing Groot's rebellious, video game-obsessed teenage phase, this minifigure features a unique specially molded head piece complete with scowling brow and sculpted bark texture, perfectly capturing his perpetual teenage moodiness from the film.

What makes this minifigure particularly desirable to Marvel collectors is its set exclusivity. Appearing only in the 'Thor's Weapon Quest' set (76102), this version represents a crucial story beat where Groot provides the vine handle to forge Thor's battle axe, Stormbreaker. Collectors seeking to recreate the iconic Nidavellir forge scene or complete their Guardians of the Galaxy evolutionary lineup consider this minifigure essential.

When inspecting this figure, collectors should pay special attention to the front and back torso printing, which features detailed wood grain patterns and subtle bark definition. The condition of the custom head mold is critical, as friction can wear down the delicate facial print around the eyes and mouth.

Teen Groot appeared in only a single set, 'Thor's Weapon Quest' (76102), released in 2018 and retired in late 2019. While the set was accessible at an entry-level $19.99 retail price point, LEGO has never re-released this specific molded Teen Groot minifigure in any subsequent sets.

Because the set had a standard retail run, aftermarket availability remains moderate, but pristine mint-condition copies continue to decrease as loose figures enter private collections or suffer play wear from younger builders.

Minifigures tied to defining moments of the Infinity Saga tend to maintain strong residual demand, and Teen Groot is no exception. As an exclusive minifigure capturing a distinct MCU phase not repeated in other sets, it holds solid long-term appeal for Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers completists.

While high production numbers of the affordable source set prevent skyrocketing prices, the figure shows steady upward value appreciation. It serves as a reliable, modest-growth collectible with strong liquidity among Marvel Super Heroes fans.
