Aragorn - Dark Red Cape

Ah, the King of Gondor himself! This version of Aragorn is a massive favorite among Middle-earth collectors, capturing his iconic cinematic look from the climax of The Return of the King. What really sets this figure apart is the stunning level of detail, from the Tree of Gondor printed boldly across his vest to the rich dark red fabric cape that drapes dramatically over his shoulders. The dual-sided head gives you two fantastic display options: a stern, resolute leader ready for battle, or a fierce, teeth-clenched warrior charging the Black Gate.

When hunting for this piece on the secondary market, condition is everything. Keep a close eye on the fabric cape—traditional starched fabric like this is prone to creasing, fraying, or softening over the years, and finding one crisp and unblemished can command a premium. The torso print, featuring intricate silver star details, is also an area where heavy play wear can rub away the metallic ink, so mint-condition specimens are fiercely contested by completionists building out their Fellowship lineups.

This particular iteration of Aragorn has a surprisingly elusive footprint. Despite being the definitive cinematic King Elessar figure for over a decade, he only appeared in a single retail set during the initial run of the Middle-earth theme. Because that set has been retired for quite some time, tracking down this specific minifigure loose or factory-sealed requires combing through dedicated marketplace listings where demand consistently outstrips the available supply.

Regional distribution and the sheer age of the set mean that fewer pristine examples are floating around in collections today. Many were opened and played with by younger fans when the sets first hit shelves, leaving the secondary market heavily saturated with figures missing their capes or showing moderate wear on the torso printing. Finding a complete, verified authentic version with all five original components is a genuine score for any collector.
