Pirate - Red Stripes, Red Legs, Brown Crow's Feet

This Pirate minifigure, with its distinctive red stripes, red legs, and unique brown crow's feet print, offers a fun twist on the classic LEGO Pirate theme. Collectors appreciate the character's somewhat startled expression, adding a touch of humor to their pirate displays. The minifigure's inclusion in a chess set makes it a slightly less common find compared to pirate minifigs from larger, more widely distributed sets.

The combination of the red stripes and red legs is relatively uncommon among pirate minifigures, making it stand out. Condition is always a factor; minifigures with well-preserved printing and minimal wear are naturally more desirable to serious collectors.

This particular pirate minifigure appears exclusively in the Pirates Chess Set (40158-1) released in 2015. While not a limited edition in the traditional sense, the chess set format means it wasn't as widely available as minifigures from standard LEGO Pirates sets. The set has been retired, further contributing to the minifigure's relative scarcity on the aftermarket. Its availability is reasonable, but prices reflect its single set appearance.
