Queen Amidala in her iconic Episode I The Phantom Menace royal red gown is widely recognized as one of the most stunning and prestigious minifigures ever produced in the LEGO Star Wars theme. Released exclusively in 2012's Gungan Sub (set 9499), this figure features an unprecedented level of molded detail and intricate printing that has never been matched or reused by the LEGO Group.

The figure stands out due to its unique component parts: a specialized large 4x4 sloped brick dress element, an extravagant dual-molded and printed dark brown and gold headdress, and a stark white face print depicting her traditional Kabuki-inspired Naboo ceremonial makeup. Because these parts are entirely bespoke and exclusive to this single release, the minifigure is a crown jewel for prequel-era Star Wars collectors.
