Plain Black, 'BRICK FRIDAY 2019'

The Plain Black 'Brick Friday 2019' minifigure is an intriguing corporate promotional piece celebrated for its stark, minimalist aesthetic. Featuring an all-black monochrome design accented only by sharp metallic gold 'Brick Friday 2019' printing across the torso, this minifigure stands out as a unique novelty item that was distributed directly through LEGO brand retail channels rather than standard retail sets.

Minifigures tied to specific retail events and calendar milestones hold a dedicated following among collectors of LEGO branded memorabilia and monochrome figures. Because it was distributed as an exclusive promotional giveaway during the Black Friday 2019 shopping weekend (set 5006065), it represents a specific snapshot in LEGO promotional history.

When assessing this figure on the secondary market, pristine condition of the gold torso lettering is paramount, as metallic prints are susceptible to rubbing or micro-scratches. Because the head, hips, and legs are standard plain black elements, collectors should ensure the torso features genuine LEGO stamps in the neck and leg pin areas to verify authenticity.

This minifigure was produced in limited quantities for a single promotional window in late November 2019. It only appeared in promotional set 5006065-1, which was distributed as a Gift with Purchase (GWP) / VIP incentive during the annual 'Brick Friday' campaign.

Because it was never offered on retail shelves and was available for only a matter of days, supply is strictly capped. While not impossible to find on secondary markets, mint and sealed examples have become steadily harder to source over time.

Promotional figures branded with specific event years occupy a stable, niche collector space. While event-branded merchandise does not always see the meteoric price spikes associated with licensed pop-culture icons (such as rare Star Wars or Marvel figures), its exclusivity ensures steady floor value among completists and LEGO brand history enthusiasts.

Given its single-set availability and clean visual design, this minifigure holds modest long-term appreciation potential as an affordable yet genuine limited-edition collectible.
