Bilbo Baggins, Blue Coat

This Bilbo Baggins minifigure is highly desirable among collectors, primarily due to its exclusive availability in a single, now-retired Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack. Its distinctive blue coat and orange vest, coupled with the unique head print capturing Bilbo's calm/scared expression, make it instantly recognizable and appealing to fans of The Hobbit.

Character popularity is a significant driver of collectibility. Bilbo Baggins is a central figure in Tolkien's legendarium, and this minifigure perfectly embodies his appearance from 'An Unexpected Journey.' The minifigure's condition is critical for collectors, with sealed or like-new figures commanding higher prices. Any wear on the printing or damage to the parts will reduce its value.

The Bilbo Baggins, Blue Coat minifigure is considered relatively rare due to its exclusive inclusion in the HOBBIT-1 set, which was a promotional item bundled with the Blu-Ray and DVD release of 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.' This limited distribution, coupled with the set's retirement, has made the minifigure increasingly scarce on the aftermarket.

While not a regional exclusive, the limited availability of the Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack contributed to its rarity. Finding this minifigure in excellent condition requires patience and often involves paying a premium compared to minifigures found in larger, more widely distributed sets.
