Percival Graves (CMF)

Percival Graves is one of the most famous modern Collectible Minifigures due to his status as the ultra-rare 'chase' figure in the 2018 Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Series 1 (71022). Packed at a strict ratio of just one figure per box of 60 blind bags, finding Graves was the ultimate thrill for Wizarding World fans when the series launched.

What elevates this minifigure beyond simple rarity is its incredible screen-accurate execution of the movie's pivotal twist. The figure comes complete with a double-sided head and two separate hairpieces—allowing collectors to display him either as MACUSA's Director of Magical Security, Percival Graves (with black hair featuring grey-printed temples), or as the disguised dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (with his platinum white hair and heterochromatic grey right eye).

Featuring intricate metallic printing on the torso, dark blue scarf detailing, and coattail printing on the legs, this minifigure remains an essential centerpiece for any complete LEGO Harry Potter or Fantastic Beasts collection.

This is undeniably the rarest minifigure across the entire Harry Potter CMF line. Unlike the standard 3-per-box or 2-per-box distribution of other characters in Series 1, Graves was limited to a 1-in-60 case distribution. This intentional scarcity led to aggressive 'bag-feeling' in retail stores, quickly clearing stock.

Since the retirement of Series 1 in late 2018, sealed packets and complete mint-condition figures have steadily dried up on the secondary market, ensuring this figure retains exceptional rarity and premium pricing.

Percival Graves is an A-grade investment piece among licensed Collectible Minifigures. Due to his 1-per-case rarity and the beloved nature of the dual-character gimmick, his aftermarket value command has remained resilient and continually outpaces all 21 other minifigures in the same series.

While interest in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise has cooled slightly, hardcore Wizarding World collectors prioritizing complete CMF rosters ensure a permanent floor of high demand. Complete sets with both original hair pieces in pristine condition are poised for consistent, long-term appreciation.
