Gorm

The Gorm minifigure is a unique piece of LEGO history, primarily because of its origin as a promotional item from McDonald's. This immediately sets it apart from standard LEGO releases, giving it a nostalgic appeal for collectors who appreciate the unusual corners of LEGO's production history. The figure's simple design and large size also contribute to its distinctiveness.

Collectors are often drawn to minifigures like Gorm due to the limited availability and the challenge of acquiring them in good condition. Promotional minifigures, especially those from fast-food chains, often see a lot of handling and play, making pristine examples particularly desirable. The novelty factor of a larger, simplified minifigure also adds to its charm.

The Gorm minifigure is relatively rare due to its exclusive distribution through McDonald's promotions. It was only available in 2002 as part of a promotional set, making it a limited release. While not as scarce as some ultra-rare prototypes or employee-exclusive minifigures, its availability was geographically restricted and time-bound, contributing to its rarity on the secondary market. The condition of available figures also plays a significant role, as many may have been played with and show signs of wear.
