Batman, Swimsuit (CMF)

Hey there, fellow collectors! If you are looking to add some absolute gold to your Bat-collection, the Swimsuit Batman from the LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures series is an absolute must-have. What makes this figure such a prized catch is its sheer comedic brilliance and unique design. Instead of his usual tactical armor or brooding black suit, the Dark Knight is caught completely off-guard wearing a hilarious black leotard featuring a gold bat logo over light nougat legs, complete with a bare-chested muscled torso.

Beyond the hilarious outfit, the standout piece here is the custom black Batman cowl featuring printed blue swimming goggles. It is a brilliant blend of serious superhero grit and absolute silliness that LEGO fans adore. When checking the condition of this figure for your display, keep a close eye on the printed details of the gold bat logo on the leotard and ensure the swimming goggles on the cowl are unblemished, as these tampo prints are the key highlights for display value.

This particular variant is notably desirable because it was locked behind a blind-bag series tied to The LEGO Batman Movie back in 2018. Since blind-bag Collectible Minifigures are only produced for a limited time during their specific series run, obtaining them directly at retail became impossible once the wave retired. Finding them now requires turning to the aftermarket, where complete sets with their original accessories and baseplates are becoming increasingly sought after by completionists.

While it was not restricted to a specific region, the randomized nature of blind bags meant that pulling this specific character required either a great deal of luck, feeling up bags at the local toy store, or paying a slight markup from secondary sellers. As time marches on, sealed blind bags and pristine loose figures are slowly drying up, making this a fun mini-grail for niche collectors.

When looking at the market data for this figure, Swimsuit Batman holds a very healthy position among thematic CMF releases. The LEGO Batman Movie subtheme has cultivated a fiercely loyal collector base, and unique variant figures like this one often outperform standard civilian or generic army-builder figures from blind-bag waves. Character demand remains high simply because Batman is arguably the most popular superhero in the entire LEGO portfolio, and fans love collecting every single absurd iteration of him.

Given that the source set/series has been retired for several years, values have stabilized and are on a steady upward trajectory as supply continues to dwindle. It may not hit the astronomical heights of a Comic-Con exclusive, but it is a rock-solid performer that will easily hold its value and steadily appreciate as a fun conversation piece in any serious DC collection.
