Boat Driver

The Boat Driver from the Sky Pirates theme is a charming minifigure with a unique early 2000s design. Collectors are drawn to this figure because it represents a relatively short-lived but memorable LEGO theme. The printed overalls and goggles, combined with the messy orange hair, give him a distinct look that stands out in any minifigure collection.

His inclusion in only a few sets, all from the same year, adds to his appeal. As the sets are now retired, acquiring the Boat Driver requires searching the secondary market, making him a more sought-after piece. The condition of the printing on the torso is a key consideration for collectors, as wear and tear can significantly impact value.

The Boat Driver appears in only three sets, all released in 2001. This limited availability inherently makes him somewhat rare, especially considering the age of the sets. While not a regional exclusive, the short production run of the Sky Pirates theme means that the Boat Driver is less common than minifigures from more popular or longer-running themes. On the aftermarket, he can be found, but his price reflects his relative scarcity compared to minifigures appearing in dozens of sets.
