Lieutenant Maverick

Lieutenant Maverick is a standout minifigure from the classic Insectoids theme, known for its unique blend of futuristic and insect-like aesthetics. Collectors are drawn to the detailed torso print, featuring the blue X with hose detailing, and the distinctive insectoid head with its breathing mask print. The trans-neon green helmet adds to the figure's visual appeal, making it a desirable piece for those who appreciate the quirky designs of late 90s LEGO themes.

For collectors focusing on complete Insectoids sets or those assembling a collection of unique minifigures, Lieutenant Maverick is an essential component. Its distinctive appearance and the relatively short production run of the Insectoids theme add to its appeal. The condition of the breathing mask print and the integrity of the torso print are crucial factors for serious collectors.

Lieutenant Maverick appears in only two sets: the Beta Buzzer (6817-1) and the Bi-Wing Blaster (6905-1), both released in 1998. Given the age of these sets and the fact that they are now retired, the minifigure is considered relatively scarce on the aftermarket. While not exceptionally rare compared to some licensed minifigures, its limited availability and the dedicated fanbase of the Insectoids theme contribute to its desirability.
