Released in 2011 as part of the beloved Collectible Minifigures Series 4, the Artist is a quintessential example of LEGO's charming character archetypes. Styled after a classic Parisian painter, this figure combines great humor and vintage flair with a classic black beret, an expressive face print complete with a raised eyebrow and goatee, and a delightfully messy paint-splattered smock.

Beyond the minifigure parts, what made the Artist memorable in Series 4 was its iconic accessory loadout, featuring a paint palette, a fine paintbrush, and a printed 2x2 tile canvas depicting a colorful sunset. The unique paint-flecked printing across both the white torso and dark tan legs gives the figure an authentic, hard-at-work studio aesthetic that remains popular for custom City MOC art galleries and studio builds.

For serious collectors, securing a complete version with both the original accessories and clean, bright white printing on the torso is key. Because Series 4 was released in the earlier era of blind bags, complete mint condition figures with crisp paint prints continue to be sought after by early CMF completists.

The Artist appeared exclusively in Collectible Minifigures Series 4 (Set 8804) during 2011 and was never reissued in standard retail sets. In the original 60-count booster boxes, the Artist was distributed at a standard ratio of 3 per box.

Having been out of production for over a decade, sealed blind packs and complete loose figures are becoming increasingly scarce on the secondary market.
