LEGO vs Brickcraft: Licensed TV Sets LEGO Doesn't Make

Brickcraft exists for the shows LEGO does not make. Its licensed sets cover Futurama, Breaking Bad, The Golden Girls, Family Guy, King of the Hill, Beavis and Butt-Head and 90s Nickelodeon characters, mostly as brick-built figures and display pieces for adult fans. LEGO has its own pop culture licenses, such as The Simpsons, Stranger Things and SpongeBob SquarePants, and a far larger range. So the choice is mostly about which show you love; if LEGO makes it, LEGO is the safer buy, and if it does not, Brickcraft may be the only official option.

What Brickcraft sells

Brickcraft's catalogue is built on licenses, most of them adult animation and classic TV:

• Also licensed: Family Guy, King of the Hill, Beavis and Butt-Head, Yellowstone, MTV, Dr. Seuss and The Grinch, Hello Kitty, Care Bears and Crayola, among others.
• Its own lines: Bricktanicals, a range of flower sets, plus seasonal builds.

The sets are sold through Brickcraft's own store and through retailers including Amazon, Walmart and Toynk, which partnered with Brickcraft on exclusive sets for San Diego Comic-Con 2025.

Compatibility

Brickcraft's own wording is that its pieces "combine with all other Brickcraft building sets and are compatible with other leading brick building brands". It does not name LEGO there, and we have not measured the fit ourselves, so the practical advice is the same as for any alternative brand: ordinary bricks of the same stud size generally press together, but grip and colours can differ, so build each model from one brand's parts. LEGO has also announced a partnership with Sanrio that brings Hello Kitty and Friends sets from 2027, a license Brickcraft already has, so Hello Kitty fans will have a choice of both brands next year.

• Buy Brickcraft if the show you love is one of its licenses, because LEGO does not make it.
• Buy LEGO if LEGO makes your show, if you want a large detailed build, or if you might sell the set later.
• For a gift, match the show first; a Golden Girls fan will want the Golden Girls set, whichever brand makes it.
