Train MOC Builders. What’s your process?

Hey everyone, I’m new to the LEGO train MOC scene and I’ve been seriously impressed with the builds in this sub. I’m not looking to design my own from scratch (at least not yet), so I’m curious where do you all usually get your train designs from? Do you buy instructions from specific designers? Use Rebrickable, BrickLink, or other sites? Also, when it comes to sourcing bricks, what’s your go-to method? BrickLink stores? Pick a Brick? Parting out sets?
