The LEGO Story: Preserving a Life With LEGO in a Book
The English version of the book originally titled "A Life With LEGO" is now available as "The LEGO Story". This book, which delves into the history of LEGO, is a must-read for LEGO enthusiasts.
The book's release was announced in mid-September last year, offering attendees of the Skærbæk Fan Weekend (SFW) the opportunity to purchase and have it signed at LEGO House. The author, Jens Andersen, and Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a key figure in LEGO's history, signed copies. The author of the article was able to get the book signed, along with a vintage LEGO set, the 330 Jeep from 1968, designed by a member of the founding family. The author shared a conversation between Jens and Kjeld, where Kjeld mentioned building the Colosseum set, describing the experience as "Looooong".
The author found the book captivating, especially the first edition in Danish, which was easy to read due to the linguistic similarities between Norwegian and Danish. The English version, released in November, has a different title, "The LEGO Story: How a Little Toy Sparked the World’s Imagination," and a different cover design.
If you're a LEGO fan interested in the brand's history, this book is a great read. Consider adding a LEGO display case to showcase any vintage sets you might own.
What was growing up with LEGO like for the founding family and what new photos have been uncovered in the LEGO archives? We learn all in the new book “The LEGO Story” from author Jens Andersen himself.
