fun digging through a multi-gen lego bin 1960-2000
A LEGO enthusiast recently acquired a massive collection of LEGO bricks from the 1960s to the 2000s, uncovering a treasure trove of classic LEGO pieces. Despite the lot being mixed with Mega Bloks, the buyer was drawn in by the prospect of finding a green dragon, a childhood dream. The collection, weighing in at 50 pounds, promises hours of sorting and rediscovery.

A brick dating back to 1960, marked with a patent pending stamp, was found, showcasing the different plastic quality of the older bricks. The collection also features the original minifigure torso without arms. The buyer was thrilled to find not one, but two green dragons, completing a long-held goal. The collection seems to be mostly incomplete sets, but it's perfect for completing other sets or building custom creations.
Among the finds were two complete sprues of gold LEGO pieces, a detail that highlights the excitement of the find. The buyer also encountered a painted horse LEGO piece and is seeking advice on removing the paint.
For anyone else who finds themselves with a large collection of LEGO bricks, you might need some brick separator tools to help with the sorting process.
